When design and construction are handled separately, the process can become fragmented, often leading to delays, misalignment, and a loss of design integrity.
April Hamilton Interiors works in close partnership with Hartwood to provide a fully integrated design and build service. Every detail is carefully considered, designed in-house and expertly executed. From kitchens and bathrooms to bespoke joinery, walk-in wardrobes, media walls and complete interior transformations. This seamless collaboration ensures your vision is preserved, timelines are streamlined and the highest standards are maintained throughout every stage of the project.
Before a spade enters the ground, we discharge all planning conditions, confirm the specification and agree a detailed programme with fixed milestone dates. Nothing starts until everything is in order.
We establish the site professionally. Secure hoarding, welfare, storage, temporary services and a resident site manager from day one. A well-run site from the start is a reliable indicator of what follows.
Groundworks are carried out to the structural engineer's specification, with all below-slab drainage installed and pressure-tested before the slab is poured. Building Control and warranty inspectors sign off at each stage.
Cavity masonry walls, engineered floor structures and factory-manufactured roof trusses bring the building to watertight, the first major milestone and the point at which the project transforms.
All mechanical, electrical and plumbing services are installed within the fabric of the building before walls are closed. Underfloor heating is pressure-tested. Every cable run and pipe route is documented.
Plastering, second fix joinery, kitchen and bathroom installation, tiling, decoration and floor finishes. Carried out in sequence by skilled trades, coordinated by your dedicated Hartwood project manager.
We carry out a thorough internal snagging inspection before your walk-through. Handover includes all certificates, as-built drawings, system manuals and a full VAT reclaim pack. A 12-month defects liability period begins from completion.

INTERIOR DESIGN FLOW
Each Project begins with a comprehensive discussion to identify the client’s needs and style. We review inspiration images and talk through the home’s overall space plan.
Our design team creates a room-by-room concept statement that guides the overall design direction of the project.
We present fully developed design ideas and presentations for approval, alongside upholstery fabrics and soft furnishing intentions.
Once the designs are finalised and signed off, our in-house procurement team orders your new furnishings, fixtures and accessories.
All FF&E elements will be delivered, quality checked and stored at our warehouse, so the installation can run smoothly and simultaneously.
Depending on the project scale, our design and install team will spend anything between 1-7 days installing all of the carefully curated art, furnishing, and accessories in your home.
